Quiet Ifni

10th and 11th April

a very quiet day yesterday as I was feeling under the weather. We think it probably is a hangover from the malaise Krysia had a few weeks ago, flu type thingy. So I slept on and off for most of the day which is most unlike me, headache etc. Poor me!! poor Krysia more like it, having to hang around a sleeping Ted! We did manage a walk around Sidi Ifni in the afternoon, which was nice. A gentle town and a gentle walk through the back streets to where we were broken down two years ago in the middle of the old part of town. Happy memories! As usual, everything did work out in the end, even if at the time we were wondering how we would get all our stuff back home without a new water pump! Panicked a bit I suppose, now after just sailing through our third breakdown in Morocco since then, we are learning not to panic because some of our good  memories are from our breakdown experiences! On saying that, I'd still rather not break down again if possible but these things do seem to be outside our hands. We shall see. Insha'Allah or what will be will be!

11th April.

A cloudy day with the prospect of some rain! We'll believe it when we see it! Which we do late afternoon! About an hours worth and then the sun came out again.
Before this monumental event, we had a good day out. I'm feeling a lot better today so we walked to the end of the beach and returned via the town.
Being lunch time, it seemed appropriate to have a meal out, so we headed for the open air cafes next to the market. We plumbed for the fish melange at 34 dirhams a head ( tails included ! )

It was a real feast. you can only get this sort of meal next to the coast. Five different fish for under 3 pounds per person. It was busy with locals and tourists alike enjoying the fresh food.
We strolled back through town while storm clouds gathered.

The Spanish influences are everywhere here in Sidi Ifni, I think Spain only gave it back in 1969!

So it then rained and stopped again! Which gave us and many others a chance for a stroll along the sea shore before sunset. We took the opportunity to show off the two rings Zacarias had made Krysia.

and Krysia to show how happy she is!

                                          Which is nice

Sleep well
love
ted and Krysia xxx
