Last day in the farm

Monday 19th March

Another really hot day with temperatures approaching 40 deg C with humidity rising. We spend the day trying to keep cool but that's not easy when you are packing up the van after a 3 week stay! On top of that, the farms water supply was cut off due to a disagreement between the farm and the electricity board over a bill! This meant no cold showers, which are so needed when the body temperature is too high. We battle on!

The van melting under the morning sun

As we settle up our bill at the reception, the owners, Michelle and Heidi inform us that the dispute is over and we have water! To the cold showers we go! Our last evenings walk is needless to say, through the garden of forbidden fruit. We do indulge on already harvested trees but............. how could you not pick fruit straight off the tree and with the pungent odour of orange blossom infusing the air, it's an intoxicating mixture we are unable to resist. The unharvested trees we would not take as they would turn us into stone!

So as the sun sets over the farm, we come to the end of our stay at La Koudya

did you know, that an orange tree blossoms before it has lost its fruit!
that means that a tree full of oranges is also now covered with flowers
heavenly to look at and heavenly to smell

So the journey continues
