A hot and sunny day,
all day. No wind either! After a hearty breakfast of muesli with
dates, figs, prunes, linseed, sultanas, oranges!!! ( we've never
eaten so well ! ), we go to the port to watch the fishermen's
auction, being supplied by the incoming boats and their catch. It's a
heated affair, with much of that nodding and winking going on that us
lay people don't understand. Box after box of all sorts of fish and
lobsters, crabs and octopus are sold off to the highest bidder. It's
a thrill to watch. We soak up the atmosphere, Imessouane at it's best
We try to use the cyber
cafe to update the blog but give up as its not only too slow but
needs updating to cope with blogging demands! It's a lovely day
outside, blog will have to wait. I'm sure you'll all understand.
We buy a kilo of
sardines for 15 dirham and head back to the campsite to bask in the
glorious afternoon sun. We even take a swim, in our wetsuits, to cool
down which we do quickly as the water is cold! It's a delight to be
splashing about in the surf.
Our neighbours need a
mention as we've been bumping into them since Safi. Ken and Pat are
sound folk in a small camper who are pitched right next to us and are
a pleasure to have next door. There is also Jean Claude, an instantly
likeable frenchman who makes conversation easily and with a smile.
Some folk are easier than others !
Here a few more images from this lovely day
Sardines are cooked as
the sunset turns into night and we eat outside in the dark. We have
had a fine day, hope you have too.
Sleep well, wherever
you are.

Ps this blog and the last one are being sent from underneath an Argan tree by the side of the road. Goats are up trees and shepherds are keeping guard as I access the internet on my computer!! It's a strange world isn't it?
